INSTALLATION & USAGE GUIDE
How to install and get the best results from your DroneLUTs.
CRUCIAL: PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
These packs are designed for normal/standard colour profiles only. Do NOT apply to unconverted D-Log, D-Log M, D-Cinelike, HLG or other flat/log profiles. Convert to Rec.709 first, then apply. If your drone footage looks washed out when you apply the LUT, it means you shot in a Log format and haven't converted it yet.
CONTENTS
WHAT IS A LUT?
A LUT (Look-Up Table) maps input colour values to output values. Technical LUTs convert between profiles, while creative LUTs shape the look of footage. Learn more in our guide to what a LUT is and when to use one.
However, a LUT does not adjust your exposure or white balance. You must ensure your image is properly exposed and white-balanced before applying the LUT for optimal results.

BEST PRACTICES
Adjust the Strength: LUTs are often very strong at 100%. In most editing software, you can lower the opacity/intensity of the LUT. A setting between 60–75% often yields the most natural, cinematic results while retaining detail.
Fix Exposure First: If your shot is too dark or too bright, the LUT won't look right. Adjust your basic exposure, contrast, and highlights/shadows before the node/layer where you apply the LUT.
Fix White Balance: If your shot is too warm (orange) or too cool (blue), fix the temperature first. LUTs assume a correctly balanced starting point.
TROUBLESHOOTING
My footage looks extremely contrasty and saturated.
You likely shot in a standard profile but applied a LUT meant for Log, OR you shot in Log and applied our standard LUT without converting first. Ensure your footage is in Rec.709 space before applying DroneLUTs.
The colours look muddy or incorrect.
Check your white balance. If your original shot is heavily tinted blue from the sky, a warm LUT will turn muddy. Neutralise your white balance first.
Why do some Lightroom files show a different collection name?
Some included DNG presets retain the names of our original collections, such as Winter, Beach or Sunset. These are the correct files included within the renamed DroneLUTs packs shown on this site.
