BEST-FIT SCENES
Tropical coastlines with visible water and open sky, especially when the source already has clean daylight and blue detail to work with.
THE COLOUR CHANGE
Leans into cooler water and vivid skies. It is a colour treatment, not a way to turn grey water or an overcast sky blue.
ADJUST THE STRENGTH
Balance the shot first, then compare the five Azure Coast grades on a frame that includes both sea and land. Lower .cube blend or layer opacity if the water becomes too electric; check that sand and buildings still look believable.
These creative looks are for normal/standard-colour footage. Convert flat or log footage to Rec.709 first, then make basic exposure and white-balance corrections before applying a look. Read the full grading guide.
QUESTIONS ABOUT AZURE COAST
Will this make cloudy water turquoise?
No. It enhances blue tones already present in the footage; light, water colour and exposure still determine the result.
Does it work on inland lakes?
It can suit blue lakes and reservoirs too. Preview a grade on the water and surrounding vegetation before committing to a full sequence.
